Our fourth modification is the BBK/Edelbrock
65 MM throttle body.
Parts Cost: $185.00
Labor: A fairly simple procedure, less than an hour. The only caution here is to be sure and set the TPS voltage after transfering the TPS over to the new throttle body. You WILL disturb the setting during this transfer and the car may not start if you do not re-set TPS. If unsure how to do this, find out how before you attempt to swap in this part.
There were no adverse affects (other than lack of traction!) We we very anxious to see if we could get into the thirteens on the GSC's...
PERFORMANCE DATA:
Launch RPM: Off Idle!
60 Ft. time: 2.10 (best we could do)
Quarter Mile: 13.88@102.40
ET before this mod: 14.03@101.64
Yes, the 13's were ours, however the car has so much more! Adding this bolt-on seemed to "wake up" everything else we did. The problem now is we were facing insurmountable traction problems. In second gear, with the clutch out and rolling, mashing the throttle produced fish-tailing wheelspin.
