Quarter Mile: 12.471@111.90
Notes:
Along with the nitrous system we also installed a FMS 190 LPH fuel pump and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. If you plan to run Nitrous, you MUST add fuel. period. Don't listen to people who tell you that your stock fuel pump will be ok. Perhaps it will work ok. But if does not, you will ruin your motor if the mixture leans out. if you feel you must run your stock pump, stay safe and don't go above 100 horsepower.
You should re-gap your plugs to .035- .040 when using nitrous, and also retard the timing to 6-8 degrees to start out with. After you are sure there is enough fuel, you can up the timing and fuel pressure depending on your tuning skills. Caution is ALWAYS in order with nitrous.
We also installed some very needed accessories:
Jacobs electronics "Nitrous mastermind" computer, Nitrous pressure guage, Regulated Nitrous bottle heater, Nitrous purge valve,
In-line nitrous filter and shifter with cut-off switch and arming switch.
The Mastermind system allows you to dial in the nitrous oxide as well as adjust timing. It also offers a safe rev-limiter as well as a fuel pressure monitor which will shut off the nitrous if there is not enough fuel.
To get the best performance out of your nitrous system, you will want to spray only when bottle pressure is at or above 900 psi. you will waste nitrous at anything lower. Do not exceed 1000 psi or you risk leaning out the mixture. The NOS regulated heater will keep the bottle pressure right where you want it.
The purge valve allows you to burp out air from changing bottles and will get liquid nitrous right at the solenoid. It also looks cool at the drags to purge at the line. Just a little, don't waste it. It typically costs 35-45 bucks to fill a 10 lb. bottle.
The juice can make awesome power. it can also bite you if you aren't careful.
